"Do not wish to be anything but what you are, and to be that perfectly"
Many of us put too much energy into trying to be something we are not. This is the most damaging habit many of us have. We try to fix who we are, get what they have and all this before we've actually taken the time to really come to know who we are ourselves. Life is short, we should not be wasting it trying to fix what is not broken. Life is about taking what we have and doing as much with it as we can in the short time we have. So go out my friends and be willing to learn and grow, only then will your true perfection begin to show and before you know it, the script will flip, you'll be the on the other side as the Jones'.
Don't forget.....The First Girls Night Out party launches tomorrow night at 7:00 pm and will run through Saturday night. Don't forget to stop by and check out what's happening.
So true Dee! You know, people always wish they were younger. Not me. The experiences of my life have made me who I am. I wouldn't give that all up just to be 20 again (or 30, or 40...LOL)
ReplyDeleteWell said Dee! I couldn't agree with you more! It's funny how in our younger days, we girls allow ourselves to get so caught up in trying to be something we are not. I mean how many countless hours have we stressed over trying to look a certain way, on making a certain group accept us, on worrying whether or not people will like us. There's definitely something to be said in the confidence one gains as we mature and become more comfortable in our own skins. Like you said, life is short. There's no time to sweat the small stuff! Just be you and have a ball doing it!
ReplyDeleteAngelina and Maria,
ReplyDeleteyou are so right, I can remember trying to be something I wasn't earlier in life, these days I'm pretty happy being who I am.
